Overall good paper with variations on regular topics
Short questions – Good balance, no major problems
Physical Geography – Good choice of questions but students were surprised that the regular question on Landform Development only referred to a deposition feature
Students found the Regional Geography section challenging, as the questions were more specific than in previous years.
The Elective section also saw the examiner depart from the usual treatment of regular topics, the question on European Union policy and its influence on regional development required very specific knowledge.
The Option sections, the popular choice; Geo-ecology again demonstrated a twist on the usual question of biomes; examining how three human activities impact on biomes
The big topics, were there, but were examined a slightly different ways.
