Career Guidance

The Institute of Education has on its team three qualified Career Guidance counsellors, fully accredited by the Institute of Guidance Counsellors. These counsellors are available for:

  • Advice on Leaving Certificate subject choice
  • Assistance with CAO and UCAS applications
  • Third level options
  • Career Planning
  • Interview Skills
  • Personality and Aptitude Profiling

Academic Mentoring

The Institute of Education has assigned one of our most successful teachers to a role of Academic Mentor.  Clare Grealy consults, and advises students on how best to approach and manage the academic workload.

Student Welfare Officer

Denis Creaven, a renowned teacher of English Poetry also supports the student body in his capacity as Student Welfare Officer.  Dennis operates a drop-in facility that allows students to discuss matters of a sensitive nature in an open and caring environment.

Resource Teacher

The Institute of Education retains the services of a qualified resource teacher to assist students that may have grounds for seeking 'Special Accomodations' during their Leaving Certificate Examination.
