The same subject options are available to International Students as are available to Irish students. Arabic is available to those students coming from the Middle East and classes are available in The Institute of Education and are taught by a native speaker of Arabic.
Also available on the Irish Leaving Certificate curriculum are: Russian, Polish, Romanian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Modern Greek, Finnish, Estonian, Slovakian, Swedish, Czech, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Portuguese, Danish and Dutch.
Irish universities will also accept GCE (UK Examination) Chinese, Urdu and Hindi for their language requirements and these examinations are held annually in The Institute of Education.
The Institute of Education provides specialised English literature and language classes for International Students with highly experienced teachers.
It should be noted that all students taking the Leaving Certificate must pass English, Maths and one other language in order to gain a place in university.
