Monitoring and Study

Motivation- The dedicated International Office is responsible for all monitoring of students. We believe that only truly motivated students who are prepared to study should apply for The Institute of Education. The dedication and commitment of the Institutes teachers and International Office must be complemented by a similar dedication and commitment from the students.

Attendance – Each day, students must sign an attendance register before the first class. Attendance at all classes and study periods is compulsory and records are kept. Lateness and non-attendance are treated seriously at The Institute of Education. Parents and/or sponsors will be informed of an unsatisfactory record of attendance.

Discipline – Discipline is strict bur fair. Students are expected to behave both inside and outside The Institute of Education. A copy of the rules and regulations is signed by each student on their first day.

Institute Schedule – Typically, a student will have five one-hour teaching periods per day and at least two supervised study periods daily. The supervised study periods are a wonderful opportunity to catch up on homework and revision.

Students should plan for a further three hours study per day. This is vital and should be done every day from the beginning of the year. Students must be realistic about study as the Leaving Certificate is a comprehensive Exam.
