The Fifth Form College at the Institute of Education was established in 1993 in response to the overwhelming demand by parents. Here, students pursue the first year of the two year Senior Cycle in a warm and caring environment, in an atmosphere where the student and the student’s welfare is paramount. The Fifth Form’s thorough and serious approach ensures that much of the Leaving Certificate course is taught in that one year. This is an enormous advantage to students entering 6th Form.
Love of Subject
Learning is facilitated by the enthusiasm and skilful delivery of brilliant teachers who inspire their students with a life long love of subject.
Discipline and Monitoring
Discipline is strict but fair. Students are monitored continuously. Reports are sent to Parents/Guardians at Christmas, Easter and Summer.
The Fifth Form College has been and continues to be a huge success. This is due to its dedicated staff both academic and administrative, who set the highest standards, give clear direction and provide a happy but disciplined atmosphere where learning takes place. The mission of the Fifth Form College is to:
‘Encourage and motivate students. of varying abilities to reach their full potential in a happy and serious learning environment’
